Summer is just around the corner now here on Vancouver Island, everything is turning vibrant green and the air is warm. On a recent excursion, I found myself driving down the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island, enjoying the scenery, the sounds, and the smells of late spring. With the pace of life being what it is lately, days spent exploring the island are to be treasured, to be enjoyed like a fine wine. At one point on my travels I noticed a scene that caused me to pause.
It’s truly hard to beat the landscapes we find here on the island. In this shot we are looking across Brentwood Bay, and in the distance we see layer upon layer of tree covered mountains creating an almost perfect green carpet. A new, contemporary home sits looking out towards the bay, and if you look closely (click on the picture to see it fullscreen, it’s well worth it) you can see the part of the house that looks out over the ocean is floor to ceiling glass. The views would be spectacular, to say the least.
Now that the weather is starting to turn warm and sunny, it’s time once again to head out and check out all the island has to offer. I can honestly say we’re blessed to live here in a place that defines the term “God’s Country”.
