A well deserved plug for this Topaz plug-in, Toad. I was a B&W shooter and printer long before the digital era and that genre is still hard-wired into my psyche. I use B&W effects in all my B&W conversions, and I especially like the infra-red pre-sets. They produce some fantastic contrasty results given the right original RAW file. People who haven’t discovered this software yet are really missing something rather special.

Nice write-up, Toad. I could not agree more, B&W Effects is a really nice product. I should use it more than I actually do but whenever I decide to put it to work, it does not disappoint. 🙂
