Hi everyone, welcome back to The Hollow today!  We’ve been posting a lot of shots lately with water themes, the weather has really improved the last few weeks and these locations are just beaming with beauty and beckoning to be photographed!

Today we’re back taking a look at the lovely Genoa Bay Marina, in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.  The title of our post here this morning might be a bit of a misnomer, there are plenty of wonderful peers to roll up alongside and hook up to at this gorgeous marina, what we really mean is this place is so special there are no others like it.

One of the first sights you’re greeted with when you come to the marina is the little restaurant.  This gorgeous little place is nestled in the trees by the bay, and overlooks the marina proper.  The colors here are absolutely vibrant, are they not?  We just love the warm tones of the wood of the building contrasted with the bright colors of the table umbrella’s and the lovely flower pots that adorn the place.  A quick review of the posted menu shows that they serve some really lovely fare in terms of meals, and the prices are not too bad.  We’re hoping to hop back one day this summer for a bite…

As we walk down the ramp leading to the docks of the marina, we are first greeted with this view.  There is a covered sitting area to take a break and enjoy some ice cream or other food acquired at the marina, and the wooden sided building in the right part of the image is a lovely little art gallery.  Again, we find the contrasting colors to be very beautiful, and they really add so much to the overall feeling one has while visiting this place.

Many of the permanent residents have been here for quite some time and have really settled into marina living.  Flower pots decorate the gang-planks and walkways as you meander the marina, taking in the sights sounds and smells of being ocean-side.  As is typical to island living, vibrant, bright and varied colors are the order of the day here.  Even the shortest visit to the marina leaves you feeling happy and refreshed…  and even for us somewhat envious…  we really do hope that these folks realize that they live in absolute heaven.

Well, once again we thank you kindly for your visit today!  Please do stay tuned, we’ve got so much more coming your way here, we’re really looking forward to sharing!  And as always, we welcome you to leave us any comments you may have as we truly love to hear from all our visitors!!
