We were originally planning on starting a new series today on the Bear Mountain Development. Unfortunately, I got called into work all weekend and we weren’t able to complete our research for the back-story, so we will have to delay this series launch. Fortunately we’ve got a few photos of some heritage architecture in Victoria to share today!
We believe this wonderful old brick building started life in downtown Victoria as the British Welding Company. Many of the oldest buildings in the city reside in this general area, right downtown.
We think it’s wonderful to see how much effort the city has put into maintaining these old heritage buildings. Chintz & Co. is a store full of items for decorating your home, and has a reputation in town for only purveying the finest. The large glass windows in contrast with the brickwork really creates a strong sense of crossing heritage and modern styling elements, and does a wonderful job of it.
The area is always busy with shoppers bustling about. These photos were taken on a Saturday afternoon and the downtown core is a beehive of activity. We have many more subjects planned in terms of pending photo shoots that showcase further examples of wonderful original heritage architecture that is still in fantastic shape being used by local Victoria businesses, so please do stay tuned!!
We hope to launch our new series on Bear Mountain in the very near future, but due to preparations underway for our pending Fine Arts show in the Cowichan Valley and my insane work schedule, we aren’t exactly sure when that will happen so please bear with us. The surrounding back-story to this pending series is so fantastic that we just have to wait until we get a chance to do some research… it’ll be worth the wait, the story is just something else.
Please feel free to leave us comments, as we love to hear from our visitors! Thanks for the visit today!!
