Why, I’m glad you asked!  Let’s take a brief stroll down Store St., Victoria, BC, Canada.  Now that we are completed our Hometown series, it’s time to refocus for a bit on local interesting architecture.  In the core of the city there is plenty of older buildings that are full of character and history.

The old brickwork is something that I just can’t resist.  The details and textures that emerge are incredible and fascinating.

The blue and red doors in this scene are most definitely original to the buildings.  I have no idea what’s in them, if they are in active use today, but I do know they were part of the original foundation of this city and are around 100 years old now.

I love the perspective in this shot.  This building does indeed seem to go on forever…  I think a fitness outfit or gym or something along those lines inhabits a few square feet of this most wondrous structure, but upon scrutiny the rest of the building seems to be empty or at least there is no active advertising posted.

I absolutely love the stark contrasts between man and nature in shots like this.  The graffiti really adds an element of interest here as well.

  2. The third image is my favorite. I love how the power lines and the side-walk lead your eyes all the way through the scene. Beautiful colors, too. Store St. . . . hmmm, perfect.
