On our trip back home from our little getaway, my wife and I encountered many interesting homes in some of the far-reaching areas of Vancouver Island. Unfortunately, most of the photos I took did not turn out well at all, but this one really captured the image I was seeing, and it captured it well. Vancouver Island can be a foreboding place to live if you’re a house, that’s for sure. The weather, especially in the winter, can be downright rotten… if you’ll pardon the pun.
Now, please don’t misunderstand me, I am sure that the folks who live here are the most wonderful folks ever. It’s just the house…
I don’t know if it’s the abundance of the color green or the yard littered with toys that made me think of the Grinch… or, perhaps it was both.
There is something utterly fascinating to me with old homes, and the homes on the Island here are some of my very favorites. The colors, the textures, they all add so much interest and drama to the scene.
We really hope you enjoy this image as much as we did creating it for you. Please stay tuned for more interesting architecture to come this week.
We hope everyone had a great Christmas and we would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
